Introduce your living room, hallway and dining room with the magnificent Minerva Ceiling Light. It is accented using spiral decoration at the ceiling canopy that extends into the curved arms as it goes down. It has an adjustable link chain that can be given a required drop.
This traditional light piece in dark bronze finish is beautified through spiral decoration on the ceiling rose that extends into three bent arms as it goes down. Towards the end of each arm rests amber tipped scavo glass shade that needs a 40w E14 bulb for illumination.
Elstead were established in 1967, and have since managed to cement their place in the industry as a leading lighting manufacturer. Elstead use a combination of hand-made production, and modern technology.
Example: If you had a traditional 60w bulb you could replace this with an 8w
LED, the brightness would be same but the energy used will be over 80% cheaper
to run. So because of technological advances you can’t compare bulbs by
wattage any more.
Wattage tells you how much energy the light is using, so a 100w is brighter
than a 60w but it also costs almost twice as much to run. LED’s that run
at 8w are as bright as a traditional 60w bulb. The lighting world is
currently switching to using Lumens to describe how bright a bulb is, this has
always been the correct measurement of brightness but most of us are not
familiar with it.
Here is a quick comparison chart
New LED’s are now coming through with a dimming function. The problem
has been that a traditional bulb such as a 60w has a lot more room to be
dimmed. A dimmer basically turns the voltage to make the light dimmer. If you think of a 60w bulb as a clocks face, as you turn the dimmer you are reducing the wattage 1 watt at a time from 60 down to 1. So the bulb is dimmed through a wide range.
LED dimming on the other hand has a much smaller wattage range just 8w before
it turns off. How ever there are now LED’s that will dim but you need to
make sure you get a compatible dimmer switch.
